Do you suspect you have a sleep disorder and want to take a test to be sure? Our respiratory therapists are here to guide and assist you throughout the process! While we specialize in the screening and treatment of sleep apnea, we can also help if you suspect another sleep disorder.
Sleep Apnea
What is sleep apnea?
Sleep apnea is a common sleep disorder that can have short- and long-term consequences, including headaches, fatigue, diabetes, and depression.
How is sleep apnea diagnosed?
At our clinics, we offer two tests specifically designed to detect sleep apnea in patients. The results are analyzed by our pulmonologist and sent to your family doctor.
If you think you may have sleep apnea, we recommend taking the Epworth Sleepiness Scale test. Your responses can help assess your likelihood of having sleep apnea, but only a lab or home test can confirm the diagnosis.

What treatments are available?
The most common and effective treatment for sleep apnea is the CPAP machine. This device delivers airflow to keep airways open, helping control snoring and apnea episodes.
Other Sleep Disorders
What are other sleep disorders?
Several sleep disorders beyond sleep apnea can negatively impact your sleep and overall health. Since these disorders can have serious consequences, it’s important to seek treatment. Some categories of sleep disorders include:
- Hypersomnias and narcolepsy
- Circadian rhythm disorders
- Parasomnias
- Abnormal sleep-related movements
