How Long Does a CPAP Last?
Health Canada has determined that the lifespan of a CPAP machine is five years. Your CPAP may still function beyond this period, but it could begin to show signs of wear. That’s why it’s important to have it checked every year!
We understand that your CPAP is essential for your well-being and quality sleep. To ensure optimal performance, we recommend replacing it once it reaches the five-year mark.
Is Your CPAP Over Five Years Old? Here’s What You Need to Do!
If You Have Insurance:
Check with your private or group insurance provider to see if you are eligible for CPAP reimbursement. Most insurers cover a new device every five years.
Also, verify the requirements for renewal—some insurance companies require a prescription that is less than a year old. If this applies to you, you will need to renew your prescription. Don’t worry—we can help you with this step!
If You Don’t Have Insurance:
Simply book an appointment at one of our service locations.
- If you are already one of our clients, meaning you have completed your sleep tests or purchased your CPAP with us, we already have all the necessary documents in your file.
- If you are a new client, we will handle the request for your documents from the clinic where you had your sleep test or purchased your CPAP.
