Demineralized or distilled water, as the name suggests, is free of minerals. The minerals found in regular water can cause premature wear and tear on your water chamber when heated. Most CPAP water chambers are made of aluminum, and minerals do not mix well with aluminum.<\/p>

Contrary to popular belief, using tap water is not harmful to you, but it can cause premature wear on your CPAP accessories, especially your water chamber.<\/p>

Did you forget to buy demineralized water for your CPAP? Don’t worry! You can use tap or bottled water as a temporary solution. Just don’t be surprised if you see a thin white residue at the bottom and edges of your water chamber in the morning\u2014that’s simply mineral buildup.<\/p>

Make sure to clean your water chamber thoroughly to remove these residues, and don\u2019t forget to pick up more demineralized water!<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
